CORVALLIS - Students in Oregon State University's College of Health and Human Performance have been honored by the college for their achievements.

The students were recognized for scholastic and community achievements, as well as the potential for future success. The college offers graduate and undergraduate degrees in exercise and sport science and public health, as well as specialties in each field. Student honorees include: ALBANY:

Ann Hutchison, senior in health care administration, $500 Dean's Scholarship and $3,000 Life Care Foundation Scholarship.

BROOKINGS: Amy Kemp, senior in physical activity and development and Spanish, Outstanding Physical Education Major of the Year.

CENTRAL POINT: Scott Neufeld, senior in safety studies, Ponderosa Safety Services Tuition Scholarship. Louis Powell, of Ponderosa Safety Services in Phoenix, Ore., began the fund to accent safety and health education.

COOS BAY: Juliana Preston, junior in health care administration, $1,000 United Seniors of Oregon Scholarship in Long Term Care, honoring outstanding scholarship. The scholarship promotes awareness of senior issues.

CORVALLIS: Tamara Johnson, senior in health promotion and education, $500 Koski Travel Award and $500 Carl Anderson Scholarship, recognizing exemplary written and verbal communication, leadership and professional commitment. Anderson was an OSU professor of health education.

EUGENE:

Ron Hodges, junior in fitness program management, $500 Clair V. Langton Scholarship, honoring academics. From 1928-64, Langton was dean of what is now the College of Health and Human Performance.

SALEM:

Lindsay Baisden, junior in health care administration, $500 Walter B. Adrion Scholarship, honoring involvement in student activities and commitment to health. Adrion was an OSU professor of health and human performance; Christina Baker, senior in health care administration, $500 American College of Health Care Administrators Scholarship.

SISTERS: Judith Neall, senior in health promotion and education, Outstanding Senior of the Year in Public Health.

ALASKA FAIRBANKS: William Laakso, senior in occupational safety and health, $500 Walter C. Thorsell Award, recognizing patriotism, citizenship and scholarship in occupational safety and health.
