CORVALLIS - Boise Cascade Corp. has given the College of Forestry at Oregon State University a $100,000 donation for the new, 97,000-square-foot Forestry and Forest Products Manufacturing Research Laboratory.

The gift raises to $1.2 million the total of private donations raised so far in the university's $14 million campaign for this new facility, which also will receive $10 million in federal funds.

"The research and product development efforts of OSU have benefitted Boise Cascade and the forest products industry," said Dick Parrish, senior vice president of that company's building products division. "With the expanded capabilities of the new lab, OSU will continue to provide critical information to the industry."

Construction is scheduled to begin this summer on the new $24 million structure.
