CORVALLIS - Oregon State University will hold a memorial service on Tuesday, Feb. 25, for John Owen, dean of OSU's College of Engineering, who died last weekend.

The service will begin at 3 p.m. in Austin Auditorium of OSU's LaSells Stewart Center, 26th and Western in Corvallis. All interested persons are invited to attend.

Owen, 62, died Feb. 15 at his home. He was one of Oregon's most prominent leaders in engineering education and high technology development. He served as vice chancellor of the Oregon Center for Advanced Technology Education (OCATE) since 1985 and as dean of OSU's College of Engineering since 1990.

Chancellor Joe Cox of the Oregon State System of Higher Education and OSU President Paul Risser will lead the memorial services.
