CORVALLIS - A 24-hour Veterans Day candlelight vigil honoring American prisoners of war and those missing in action will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at Oregon State University's Memorial Union Quad.

The event, coordinated by OSU's Air Force Reserve Officers' Training Corps Arnold Air Society, will begin with a 21-gun salute. There will also be a flyover by military F-15 jets and a brief Veterans Day address. A candle will be lit and then guarded and kept burning by campus ROTC cadets. OSU Army and Naval ROTC students will also participate.

"It is a day to remember the men and women who fought for our country and sacrificed their freedom for our cause," said Brian Scott, of OSU's Air Force ROTC.

Arnold Air Society is a nationwide ROTC honors society, founded in 1951.
