CORVALLIS - Thomas Munnerlyn has been named director of Career Services at Oregon State University to manage career-related services and assistance to students, the academic community, alumni and employers.

Munnerlyn begins his duties at OSU on Sept. 15.

"I'm very excited about the director's position in Career Services at OSU and hope that this coming year students, staff, faculty and alumni will visit the center and find it a user-friendly place," Munnerlyn said.

Munnerlyn had held the position of assistant director of Career Development and Placement at the University of Maryland-Baltimore County. He earned his master's of education and his bachelor's in sociology at the University of South Carolina.

OSU Career Services assists in the education and development of individuals through the job search process and provides information about cooperative education, internship opportunities and other professional work-study experiences.

Each year, through the campus interview program, the department works with more than 300 organizations interviewing OSU students and alumni for full-time, part-time, and internship positions.
