CORVALLIS - The Hispanic Student Union at Oregon State University is sponsoring "Hispanic Night" on Friday, Jan. 23 - an evening of dining, dancing and entertainment.

The dinner will run from 6 to 8 p.m. in OSU's Memorial Union Ballroom and costs $4. The dance follows from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. and costs an additional $2.

The theme for the event is "Somos Muchos, Somos Uno," or "We are Many, We are One."

Victor Benavides will speak on his experiences in the United States in a talk entitled "The Unity of Hispanics, Latinos and Chicanos." Artist Hector Hernandes, who painted a mural in OSU's La Raza room, will discuss his work.

Music at the dance will be performed by Grupocaliente. Also performing during the evening will be Grupo lo Nuestro, the Miztitlan Dancers, and Baila con Mexico.
