CORVALLIS - Oregon State University will host a picnic for its Corvallis-area alumni and friends, current and prospective students and their parents on Thursday, July 9, at North Clackamas Park. The picnic will begin at 6:30 p.m.

OSU will provide hamburgers, beverages and table service for everyone. Persons whose last name begins with N-Z are asked to bring a salad for six to eight people. Those with last names beginning with A-M are asked to bring a dessert for six to eight.

OSU President Paul Risser and his wife, Les, will be at the picnic as will representatives of the university's Alumni Association, the athletic department and various colleges within OSU.

A large number of OSU graduates live and work in the area, according to Lawson Knight of the OSU Alumni Association, and the metropolitan area sends hundreds of students to the university each year. A total of 27,732 OSU alums live in Clackamas, Multnomah and Washington counties alone, he pointed out.

Persons wanting more information on the picnic may contact Knight at 541-737-7849.
