CORVALLIS - The Extension Services of Oregon State University, University of Idaho and Washington State University have just published the 1998 editions of the Pacific Northwest Pest Control Handbooks.

The three annually revised handbooks include:

  • The "1998 PNW Weed Control Handbook," a 380-page volume containing information on controlling weeds in various crop and noncrop situations in Oregon, Washington and Idaho.
  • The "1998 PNW Insect Control Handbook," a 364-page guide providing information for controlling insect pests in the Pacific Northwest, including information on pesticide safety, toxicity, pesticide names, conversion factors and bee poisoning.
  • The "1998 PNW Plant Disease Control Handbook," a 432-page reference book for controlling numerous plant diseases. Included are cultural and chemical control measures for major diseases of major Pacific Northwest crops and ornamentals. Causes and symptoms are also given, as well as pesticide safety.

These handbooks are available by mail for $25 per copy (includes shipping and handling). Send your request and check or money order payable to OSU to: Publication Orders, Extension and Station Communications, OSU, 422 Kerr Administration, Corvallis, OR 97331-2119. Please provide a street address for United Parcel Service (UPS) delivery.
