CORVALLIS - A 24-hour vigil honoring American prisoners of war and those missing in action begins at 11a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 10, at Oregon State University's Memorial Union Quad.

The event, coordinated by OSU's Air Force Reserve Officers' Training Corps Arnold Air Society, also recognizes all Americans who served their country. The vigil ends on Veterans Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11.

The OSU ceremony opens on Tuesday with a 21-gun salute and a fly-over by two Air Force F-15 fighter bombers. The fly-over will be followed by an address by Lt. Col. Antonino Fabiano, former Joint Chiefs of Staff public affairs officer.

The vigil begins immediately following the ceremony and, in addition to the Air Force ROTC, will also include members of the OSU Army and Navy-Marine Corps ROTC.

Arnold Air Society is a nationwide ROTC honors society, founded in 1951.
