CORVALLIS - Oregon State University President Paul Risser will answer questions at the fourth annual Presidential Forum sponsored by the OSU University Honors College.

The forum will be held at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 19, in the Memorial Union Ballroom on the OSU campus.

The University Honors College and Risser both arrived on the campus of OSU in the fall of 1995. Jane Siebler, head adviser and programs coordinator for the college, said it seemed natural at the time to host an event where the new university president could address questions from the community.

"It's become a tradition of sorts," Siebler said. "It's an event where the entire community is invited to ask questions of the president. It is certainly something President Risser endorses and has encouraged."

Siebler said students in the University Honors College have several issues to discuss with Risser. They include questions about the university's construction priorities; whether a switch to the semester system is being considered; and why there is no option for an A-plus in the university's grading system.

"The forum is neat because President Risser likes the opportunity to meet people and answer questions not only from the student body but the community in general," Siebler said.
