CORVALLIS - The College of Health and Human Performance at Oregon State University has honored two of its faculty for outstanding achievements.

Terry Wood, an associate professor of exercise and sport science, received the 1998 Excellence in Teaching Award. Wood was cited by his colleagues, students and former students for his "unmatched commitment to teaching" and scholarly expertise. He is a leader in the field of measurement and evaluation in exercise and sport science.

Wood has been on the OSU faculty since 1985.

Ann Asbell, coordinator of physical activity courses in the college and an instructor, received the 1998 Carl L. Anderson Outstanding Faculty Award. She was cited for her "commitment and creativity as a teacher" and for national leadership in her field.

Asbell has been on the OSU faculty since 1984.
