CORVALLIS - Oregon State University will host gospel soloist Pamela Baker at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, in the Memorial Union Ballroom.

Tickets are $7 for general admission and $5 for students and are available at three Corvallis locations: Rice's Pharmacy, Sweets BBQ and the OSU Memorial Union Program Council. Baker's performance is sponsored by the program council and a portion of the proceeds will go to Community Outreach and the Rwandan Refugee Relief Fund.

A Corvallis resident, Baker's accomplishments include a three-year tour with New Anointing, a gospel ensemble out of Atlanta. The group traveled extensively throughout the Southeast and appeared in concert with gospel artists including Richard Smallwood, Babbie Mason, Denise Tischnor, Lecrecia Campbell and Ron Winans.

Baker is also active in community theater, earning best supporting actress awards from the Albany Civic Theater for her performances as Jacqueline in "La Cage Aux Folles" and Queenie in "Showboat."
