CORVALLIS - A sexual assault and gender issues presentation developed by two Oregon State University residence hall staff members has earned a top 10 award from the Pacific Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls.

The organization is part of the National Association of College and University Residence Halls and includes 60 campuses throughout California, Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, British Columbia and Alaska.

Ginnie Kosse, an OSU assistant residence hall director and a junior in forestry, and Laura Bennett, an OSU Residence Hall Association adviser and master's candidate in college student services administration, developed the sexual assault and gender issues presentation for OSU residence hall staff. The pair staged their production at a recent Pacific Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls conference at the University of Alaska in Fairbanks.

The presentation includes a discussion of sexual stereotypes, exercises designed to heighten awareness of sexual assault issues and a personal account of sexual assault.

The OSU 13-member conference delegation also received a Silver Star award for most spirited delegation at the event and Justin Timmons, OSU Residence Hall Association president and a junior in business, was honored as most spirited delegate at the conference.
