CORVALLIS - Oregon State University's Student Health Services is celebrating a three-year accreditation by a team of independent health care professionals with an open house from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, March 8.

Refreshments, drawings and tours of the student health facilities in the Plageman Building will be offered as the center recognizes acknowledgment by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.

The association is a not-for-profit, nationally recognized organization that examines non-hospital health care institutions and awards recognition to centers that meet standards for quality health care. Accreditation is a voluntary process and is an honor given to fewer than 2 percent of college health services in the United States.

Through Student Health Services, OSU offers physician and nursing services to students, including allergy clinics, sports and travel medicine, physical therapy and pharmaceutical services and also serves as a teaching laboratory for students training for health care professions..

Student Health Services also offers health and wellness promotion activities, including stress management clinics, nutritional counseling and drug and alcohol programs.
