CORVALLIS - Oregon State University is expecting more than 3,000 visitors for the university's annual Dad's Weekend celebration Feb. 5-7.

More than 30 activities are scheduled, including car and sport shows, campus tours and a golf tournament. A few of the events are open only to OSU students and their guests, but many of the activities are free and open to the public.

Activities begin on Friday, Feb. 5, when students are encouraged to take their fathers to OSU's Dixon Recreation Center for free access to swimming, basketball courts, weight machines and a variety of other fitness activities. From 4-5 p.m., OSU President Paul Risser greet dads in the Memorial Union.

Friday evening offers a choice of cultural pursuits with the screening of the 1998 film "Wilde," based on the life of Oscar Wilde, or the Tennessee Williams play "Camino Real."
