CORVALLIS - Francesca Cafferata, an Oregon State University senior from Dexter majoring in fisheries and wildlife and minoring in forest management, has been selected for the 1999 Research Fellowship of the national Renewable Resource Foundation.

Cafferata, selected from students nominated by 35 U.S. universities, will study practical ways to foster interdisciplinary approaches to resource management and education.

In the fall, following completion of her research, she will present the findings to the foundation's board of directors at its headquarters in Bethesda, Md.

The Renewable Resources Foundation is a consortium of professional, scientific and educational organizations. The foundation's basic mission is to advance sustainability of renewable natural resources through interdisciplinary science, understanding and stewardship.
