CORVALLIS - Oregon State University's annual Africa Night celebration is scheduled on Saturday, April 3 in the Memorial Union Ballroom.

Doors open at 5:45 p.m. and tickets, available at the door or at MU ticket booths from March 29 through April 2, are $8 for adults and $5 for children, 12 and under.

Members of OSU's African Student Association are sponsoring the event.

"Traditional African gourmet food and drinks will be served and clothing indigenous to Africa will be modeled," said Jessica Nduaguba, of the OSU African Student Association.

Shamir, a Portland-based band, featuring lead singer Kimera Sengendo, will perform East African and Caribbean reggae music and dance tunes, Nduaguba said.
