CORVALLIS - Oregon State University and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Research Service scientists will present their research findings on topics ranging from cereal grain production and seed crops research at the annual Hyslop Farm field day on Wednesday, May 26.

This event is open to the public and will run from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

The morning tour begins at 8:30 a.m. and will include updates on wheat breeding and new releases, weed management, cereal fertilization strategies, soil mineralization, septoria control update, triticales and spring grains.

The Oregon Seed Council and North and South Valley chapters of the Oregon Wheat Grower League are sponsoring lunch. The OSU Crops Club will prepare lunch, served on-site at noon.

The afternoon program will begin at 1 p.m. and will feature information on weed, disease and slug control in grass seed crops, seed crop genetics and physiology, the effects of cropping systems on groundwater quality and other topics.

Hyslop Farm is located six miles northeast of Corvallis just to the west of Highway 20. Watch for signs.
