No one was injured during the minor fires, which were extinguished manually and by automatic sprinklers. Claire Keith, fire marshal and assistant chief with the Corvallis Fire Department, said the building suffered no real damage.

The 275 students living in the OSU residence hall were evacuated and sent to nearby buildings with sleeping accommodations.

The Oregon State Police and Corvallis Fire Department are investigating. Persons with information about the fires are asked to call the office of the Oregon State Police and OSU Security Services at 541-737-3010. All calls will be treated confidentially.
