CORVALLIS - Auditions for the first two Oregon State University plays will be held in tandem on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 4-5, in the Withycombe Hall lab theater at OSU.

The plays - "Room Service" and "The Suicide" - are part of the University Theatre's year-long focus on comedy. "Room Service," written by John Murray and Allen Boretz, will be performed Nov. 11-13 and Nov. 18-20. "The Suicide," written by Nikolai Erdman and translated by John Freedman, is scheduled Jan. 27-29 and Feb. 3-5.

The auditions will begin at 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 4, and at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 5. They are open to all OSU students and the general public. Audition activities will include readings, exercises and improvisations; there will be no presentation of prepared pieces.

Scripts for both shows are available for 24-hour checkout by calling the University Theatre office at 541-737-2853. Additional details about both shows are available in the theatre wing of Withycombe Hall, located at 30th and Campus Way.
