CORVALLIS - Martin Dale Montoya has been appointed interim coordinator of Oregon State University's Casa Educacional Education Office.

Montoya, who is working on a doctoral degree in sociology, has taught undergraduate sociology coursework at regional colleges and universities since 1995.

His efforts earned him the local chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People's Community Service Award for "meritorious service to the farm work community and cultural diversity."

A search for a permanent coordinator for Casa Educacional will begin by March 2001. Details about the search are available on the World Wide Web.
