CORVALLIS - Oregon Dance, a performance ensemble from Oregon State University, will present its annual spring concerts on Friday and Saturday, April 13-14, at the Majestic Theatre in Corvallis. Performances begin at 8 p.m.

Tickets are priced at $10 ($7 for students and seniors). Reserved seats may be purchased in advance at Rice's Pharmacy or at the Women's Building Room 120 on the OSU campus.

Carol Soleau, an associate professor of exercise and sport science at OSU, is the founder of Oregon Dance, which is comprised of OSU students and guest artists.

The April 13-14 performances will include a solo dance called "Prey," in which Denise Ptacek depicts a cornered creature. Another routine, "It's Ridiculous," spoofs dance movement clichés and features six men showcasing their 'macho' leaps and tumbles.

"Satellite" features intertwining Jazz III level dancers in perpetual motion, performing to the music of the Dave Matthew's Band. "Splash," performed to music by the Manhattan Transfer, utilizes umbrellas to enhance spatial displays.

Suzy Pence, an Oregon Dance veteran, will perform "Veiled Mystery," an ethereal depiction of layers choreographed to Anne Dudley's score.

Guest artists include Valerie Bergman and Darryl Thomas, who will bring their company, Rainbow Dance Theatre, with them. Bergman has performed nationally and internationally; Thomas is a former member of the group, Pilobolus.

Mishele Mennett, a former OSU faculty member, will present her popular "Elvis Dances."

Soleau is director of the performances. Phil McBeth is the lighting designer and technical director.

The concerts are sponsored by the OSU College of Health and Human Performance and the OSU Foundation.
