CORVALLIS - The College of Engineering at Oregon State University recently honored a group of engineers and OSU alumni for their outstanding contributions to the engineering profession.

The engineers gained membership in either the Engineering Hall of Fame, the Academy of Distinguished Engineers, or the Council of Outstanding Early Career Engineers.

The Hall of Fame recognized OSU engineering alumni who have made sustained and meritorious engineering or managerial contributions throughout their careers. The Academy of Distinguished Engineers recognizes mid-career, practicing engineers with at least 20 years experience who have made distinguished contributions to the profession, OSU or society. The Council of Outstanding Early Career Engineers honors individuals with early career contributions that identify them as future leaders in their profession or field.

Those named to the Engineering Hall of Fame included Tommy Ambrose, Inkom, Idaho; the late Paul Emmett, Tualatin, Ore.; Lee Kearney, Vancouver, Wash.; Ralph Larsen, Raleigh, N.C.; Lewis Spencer, Boise, Idaho; Robert Johnson, Bend, Ore.; Lee Ting, Hillsborough, Calif.; J. Jack Watson, Montecito, Calif.; Robert Alton, Neotsu, Ore.; Carl Urben, Portland, Ore.; Henry Schuette, Vancouver, Wash.; and Jack Lentsch, Monmouth, Ore.
