CORVALLIS - "Farmer's Markets 101" will be the focus of an all-day workshop Saturday, Feb. 10, at Lane Community College in Eugene.

The session, sponsored by the Oregon State University Extension Service, the Oregon Department of Agriculture and the Oregon Farmers Markets Association, will run from 9:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. in the Forum on the LCC campus.

Titles of general sessions to be offered include "Successful Farmers Markets Around the World," "Do Real Farmers Sell Direct?" and "Food Safety Update." An overview of the Oregon Farmers' Markets Association's services also will be offered.

Afternoon sessions will include a track for farmer's market managers and one for vendors.

Vendor sessions will feature panels on "Improving Your Farmers Market Sales" and "Cross Marketing Your Farm and Its Products." Titles of manager sessions will include "Board Development and Community Relationships" and "Tips for Managers at the Market."

Pre-registration fees are $15 for one person and $25 for two from the same farm. On-site registration will be $20 for one person and $30 for two from the same farm. The fees include lunch and handouts.
