CORVALLIS - Robert Lackey, a fisheries scientist with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and a courtesy professor at Oregon State University, is being honored as an outstanding alumnus in 2001 by Colorado State University.

Lackey, who received a Ph.D. in fisheries and wildlife science in 1971 from Colorado State, was selected by the faculty in CSU's College of Natural Resources as its "2001 Honor Alumnus."

Lackey is a special assistant for interagency salmon research at the EPA lab on the Oregon State University campus. He is a courtesy professor of fisheries science at OSU, and an adjunct professor of political science.

He also has served as deputy director of EPA's environmental research laboratory at OSU --- a $40 million center focusing on national ecological science questions.
