CORVALLIS - Seven outstanding Oregon 4-H members have been awarded scholarships by the Extension 4-H Youth Development Program at Oregon State University.
The scholarships are given in recognition of each member's achievements in 4-H and to provide incentive for further education, according to Mary Arnold, OSU Extension Service 4-H Youth specialist.
"In providing scholarships the 4-H program continues its work with youth by supporting the next and often most expensive stage of the 4-H member's life," said Arnold. "Recognizing and supporting youth as they enter college is an investment in the future of our families and communities, and the state 4-H program is grateful for the generous donor support of the state scholarship program."
More information about the 4-H scholarship program is available by contacting Arnold at the State 4-H Office at 541-737-1315, or the Oregon 4-H Foundation at 541-737-2602 in Corvallis.
