CORVALLIS - The Saturday Academy program at Oregon State University will hold two sessions in January to provide information for parents and students who are interested in its Apprenticeships in Science and Engineering Program to be held in the summer of 2003.

This program provides an opportunity for an eight-week summer apprenticeship to students who have completed their freshman, sophomore or junior year in high school. Students who successfully complete the program will receive a stipend, attend two conferences with other program participants from around the state, and receive high school credit.

The two programs will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 8, from 7-8 p.m. in the cafeteria-staff dining room at Corvallis High School (entrance off Pierce Street); and on Monday, Jan. 13, from 7-8 p.m. in the Career Center, Room D-3, at West Albany High School.

Visits will also be conducted to area high schools during lunch periods to discuss the program. For more information, contact Ellen Ford, the director of OSU Saturday Academy, at 541-737-1822.
