THE DALLES - Farmers in the Mid-Columbia Basin of Oregon and Washington are invited to attend a workshop on soil fertility and management on Thursday, Feb. 14, to explore soils and nutrient management for small grains and orchards.

Experts from Oregon State University Extension Service, the Wasco County Soil and Water Conservation District and the Natural Resources Conservation Service will discuss ways to manage for optimum plant health and yields and promote water quality. Oregon Pesticide and Certified Crop Advisor credit hours have been applied for this program.

The Mid-Columbia Soil Fertility and Management Workshop will be held at the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center Theater in The Dalles from 12:30 to 5 p.m. There is no charge for this workshop. The Wasco County Soil and Water Conservation District annual meeting will follow, with a planned social hour at 5:30 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m.
