CORVALLIS - An internationally recognized microbiologist at Oregon State University will discuss bioterrorism at luncheons in Corvallis and Portland.

Dennis Hruby, an OSU professor of microbiology who studies the interactions that occur between invading microbes and their target host cells, will deliver a talk, "Bioterrorism: Fighting Back," in two events sponsored by the OSU Alumni Association.

Hruby will speak at the OSU Over Lunch program on Friday, Jan. 25 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will be held in the CH2M HILL Alumni Center located on the OSU campus. Cost for the luncheon is $13 for OSU Alumni Association members and $14 for non-members.

A similar program will be held at the Lloyd Center Double Tree, 1000 N.E. Multnomah Blvd., Portland, on Thursday, Feb. 7. Hruby will speak from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost for lunch is $16 for OSU Alumni Association members and $17 for non-members. The deadline to register for the Portland lecture is Friday, Feb. 1.

Hruby is the recent winner of the OSU Alumni Association Distinguished Professor Award.
