CORVALLIS - Conditions in Israel, the Palestinian refugee camps, as well as prospects for peace in the Middle East will be the subject of a free public lecture at Oregon State University on Monday, May 20.

Yossi Amrani, consul general of Israel, Northwest Region, will discuss the issues during his talk "Recent Developments from the Front Line," at noon in OSU's Memorial Union's Joyce Powell Leadership Center.

Amrani has served as minister for political affairs at the Embassy of Israel in Washington, D.C. He also served as a member of the Israeli delegation in negotiations with the Palestinians. Amrani received his master's degree in general history from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.

His talk is sponsored by OSU Hillel and the Soref Initiative for Emerging Campuses, which serves campuses with small Jewish populations.
