CORVALLIS - Oregon State University's Music a la Carte concert series will feature pianists Angela Carlson and Rebecca Jeffers on Thursday, Nov. 7. The free public concert begins at noon in OSU's Memorial Union Lounge.

Carlson and Jeffers will perform piano duets by Romantic period composers including Grieg, Dvorak, Gliere, Saint-Saens and others.

The two musicians have played piano duets together for more than 25 years. Carlson, a faculty member in OSU's Department of Music, teaches music theory and is active as an accompanist. She is an opera preview lecturer for the Linn-Benton Opera Guild, and works with Opera Theater Corvallis as an accompanist and lecturer.

Jeffers is known to Northwest audiences as a collaborative pianist and chamber musician. She has accompanied workshops with master voice teachers Richard Miller, Ellen Faull, and at the Linfield Vocal Institute, and has performed with numerous solo singers, instrumentalists, and choirs in concerts, recitals, and competitions. Jeffers teaches at OSU, where she is staff accompanist, and for many years served as music director and pianist for the University Theatre's Gilbert and Sullivan productions.
