CORVALLIS - The Oregon State University Marching Band will host the annual OSU Marching Band Championships on Saturday, Oct. 19, beginning at 11 a.m. in Reser Stadium.

This annual all-day event will feature the talents of more than 2,000 high school performers from 16 Oregon high schools, competing in more than 34 separate performances. The OSU marching band, under the direction of Brad Townsend, will perform at 3:45 p.m. and 10 p.m.

The finals competition will begin at 6 p.m. Awards will be given at the conclusion of the finals competition.

High Schools attending the competition are: Aloha; Beaverton; Centennial (Gresham); Century (Hillsboro); Crater (Central Point); McKay (Salem); Mountainview (Vancouver); Phoenix (Phoenix); Southridge (Beaverton); Sprague (Salem); Sunset (Portland); Tigard; West Salem; Westview (Portland); and Willamette (Eugene).
