CORVALLIS - The Oregon State University Extension Service has developed a new website, "Wildfire in Oregon," to provide up-to-date information about wildfire prevention, news about current fires, and suggestions for recovery after fire.

The site includes links to OSU Extension publications, including how to make your home and property more defensible against wildfire and how to recover your home, food supplies, pastures and trees following the event of wildfire.

The site also includes links to the latest information about current fires and fire closures.

"Wildfire in Oregon" is the latest in a series of emergency communications websites developed by OSU Extension. The purpose of these websites is to provide a single place where people can find the information they need to help prepare for a possible emergency, respond when emergency hits, or recover after the event. You can access "Wildfire in Oregon" at http://extension.oregonstate.edu/emergency/wildfire.php or you can find it on Extension's homepage at http://extension.oregonstate.edu/index.php.
