CORVALLIS - Discovery Days, a science outreach program that allows departments at Oregon State University to share both live and preserved collections with the public, will be held again on Nov. 16-17 at OSU's LaSells Stewart Center.

At Discovery Days, volunteers will be available to help with hands-on experiences and to share their knowledge and expertise.

Displays include various sea creatures, a "world of reptiles," plants, and scientific experiments and presentations, providing an opportunity to learn more about natural history, life cycles, our relationship with other species and the environment, physical sciences, and engineering.

Discovery Days offers something for all ages, and is free and open to the public. It will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 16, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 17. Some K-12 school classes and other groups are also invited to attend on these days by reservation only.

This year's event is hosted by the OSU colleges of Science, Agricultural Sciences, and Engineering. Interactive displays will be presented by several OSU departments and the OSU Hatfield Marine Science Visitor Center.
