BEND - Oregon State University-Cascades Campus and Central Oregon Community College have organized a job fair for Saturday, March 12, providing a venue for students and community members to meet with many of Central Oregon's outdoor recreation and tourism companies.

The event will be from 1-4 p.m., and is free and open to the public. It will be in Mazama Gym on the COCC campus, at 2600 N.W. College Way in Bend. Anyone interested in a summer position or a career opportunity is welcome.

At 1 p.m., a panel of industry leaders will discuss industry trends and career opportunities. An orienteering event and various games and activities will also be part of the festivities.

From 2-4 p.m., students can meet with owners and representatives from businesses. More than a dozen colleges and universities throughout the Pacific Northwest have been invited to attend, as well as local high school seniors. A partial list of companies that will be attending include Bend Metro Parks and Recreation, Central Oregon Adventures, Fly and Field Outfitters, Outward Bound, Ouzel Outfitters, Rock Springs Guest Ranch, Sagewalk, Wanderlust Tours and Timberline Mountain Guides.

Job-seekers should come prepared with resumes, organizers say. Any other companies interested in attending may contact Aaron Lish at Central Oregon Community College, at (541) 318-3720.
