CORVALLIS - Oregon State University will be hosting the region's largest blood drive from Monday, Feb. 14 through Thursday, Feb. 17 in OSU's Memorial Union Ballroom.

Hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, no reservations are required and the public is welcome to donate, campus blood drive officials said. Eligibility requirements vary, but for specific questions, contact the American Red Cross at 800-GIVE-LIFE, or to locate other blood centers or drives.

A three-day or greater supply of blood is considered optimal, but for some blood types, the Red Cross is now looking at a one-day supply or less of specific blood types.

The Oregon State drives typically raise about 1,000 units of blood, which would help as many as 4,000 people. The OSU blood drive is the largest drive the group holds in the Northwest region, but blood drives are held regularly throughout the area.
