CORVALLIS - "Wine & Whiskers - Art from the Heartland," a benefit for Heartland Humane Society, is set from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 6, at Oregon State University's Magruder Hall.

The open house features art created by shelter cats and human artists and includes live music, a silent auction, wine tasting and tours of OSU's new College of Veterinary Medicine facility.

Tickets, which are $10, will be available at the door.

All proceeds benefit Heartland Humane Society. A Corvallis-based not-for-profit animal welfare organization, Heartland was founded in 1966. The program operates an open-door animal shelter that cares for more than 2,300 animals each year. For information, see the Web site at www.heartlandhumane.org or call 541-757-9000.
