CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State University professor Jon Lewis will lead a discussion of the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) and the ratings process after a showing of the new documentary "This Film Is Not Yet Rated." The screening will take place at the newly reopened Avalon Cinema on Sunday, Oct. 22.

Lewis is featured prominently in the film. His 2000 book, "Hollywood v. Hard Core: How the Struggle Over Censorship Created the Modern Film Industry," caught the attention of director Kirby Dick, who was nominated for an Oscar for his 2004 documentary on sexual abuse in the Catholic Church titled "Twist of Faith."

Lewis will introduce the 7 p.m. showing on Sunday and lead a discussion with audience members following the film.

Avalon Cinemas is at 160 N.W. Jackson in Corvallis.

"This Film Is Not Yet Rated" is rated NC-17.
