CORVALLIS, Ore. – Bestselling author Naomi Wolf will offer her views on leadership in a talk at Oregon State University beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 31.

Free and open to the public, Wolf’s presentation on “The Changemakers: Ethical Leadership and Real Power” will be held in LaSells Stewart Center at 26th Street and Western Boulevard in Corvallis.

A graduate of Yale and a former Rhodes Scholar, Wolf has written several books, including “The Beauty Myth” and “The Tree House: Eccentric Wisdom from my Father on How to Live, Love, and See.”

“The Beauty Myth,” called one of the most important books of the 20th century by The New York Times, challenged the marketing of unrealistic standards of beauty.

She is the co-founder of The Woodhull Institute for Ethical Leadership, an organization that teaches young women how to become leaders and agents of change in the 21st century. She has also written essays for The New Republic, The Wall Street Journal, Glamour and The New York Times.

Wolf’s brother is Aaron Wolf, an OSU professor of geosciences and one of the world’s leading experts on international water politics.

Wolf’s visit is part of the OSU Convocations and Lectures series. The Convocations and Lectures Committee hosts speakers each year intended to broaden the intellectual and spiritual knowledge of the community. In the past the committee has brought such speakers as Doris Kearns Goodwin, Michael Moore, Ray Suarez, Winona LaDuke and Anita Hill to the OSU campus.
