CORVALLIS, Ore. – Clay Dibrell, an associate professor of management in the College of Business at Oregon State University, will spend the next year doing entrepreneurial research in Poland with a grant from the Fulbright Scholar Program.

Dibrell will teach international business and conduct research on entrepreneurial start-up ventures in transition economies at the Leon Kozminski Academy of Entrepreneurship and Management in Warsaw, Poland. He will be in Poland from February through June of 2008.

"I am looking forward to the opportunity to gain new perspectives on entrepreneurship in Europe and in an economy that is in transition," Dibrell said. “I hope to apply these lessons and different perspectives to my own research dealing with entrepreneurs in urban and rural locations in Oregon.”

The Fulbright Scholar Program sends about 800 U.S. faculty and professionals abroad each year, to lecture and conduct research in a wide variety of professional fields. The prestigious program has been supported for more than 50 years by the United States Department of State.

Dibrell spent two years in the Peace Corps as a small business adviser in Kenya where he focused on both local and international entrepreneurial activities. Later, he worked with Signal Communications in the telecommunications industry. Throughout his doctoral program and his present position at Oregon State University, he has had an opportunity to deal with executives from both small and large firms on the topics of strategic planning, corporate entrepreneurship, strategy formulation & implementation, and international business opportunities.
