CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State Alumni Association will host a parade as part of the university’s 2007 Homecoming, scheduled for the week of Oct. 21-27, highlighted by a football game between OSU and Stanford.

Entry forms for the parade are available through the OSU Alumni Office, telephone 541-737- 2351, or by stopping by the office at the CH2M HILL Alumni Center. They also are available online at www.osualum.com and at the Downtown Corvallis Association. Applications can be faxed by request as well.

Student organization entries are $10; all other entries are $15. Decorated floats, marching bands, student and community groups, dance teams, novelty acts, etc. are all invited to be in the parade.

Kick-off for the Oct. 27 game is set for 3:30 p.m., and the homecoming parade is scheduled to begin at 10:30am. The theme for this year’s homecoming is “Home is Where the Orange Is.”

The tradition of the homecoming parade was resurrected last year by the OSU Alumni Association. Five alumni will be honored over the weekend with special awards, and they will serve as parade grand marshals.

The parade will begin in downtown Corvallis at Southwest 1st and Jefferson. It will proceed west on Jefferson to 26th Street, then turn south and end a block later in front of Dixon Recreation Center on the OSU campus.
