CORVALLIS, Ore. – More than $19,000 in scholarships have been awarded to 19 Oregon 4-H members by the Extension 4-H Youth Development Program at Oregon State University.

"The scholarships recognize exceptional accomplishments in 4-H and help with the costs of college education," said Helen Pease, OSU Extension 4-H youth specialist.

The Oregon 4-H scholarship program gives scholarship awards annually to outstanding Oregon 4-H members, according to Pease. Scholarship recipients are selected according to their achievement in 4-H activities, contributions to community and academic performance, she said.

"The donors providing support for this program see 4-H scholarships as an important investment in the future of our communities," Pease said. "The Oregon 4-H program is grateful for the individuals, businesses and organizations that give to the 4-H scholarship program."
