CORVALLIS, Ore. - Carl M. Casale has been elected to a three-year term on the board of trustees for the National 4-H Council. Casale was a member of the Oregon 4-H program as a youth and is a graduate of Oregon State University.

Also joining the National 4-H Council board of trustees is Roger Rennekamp, head of OSU's 4-H Youth Development Education department and Extension program leader for 4-H Youth Development, positions he has held for the past three years.

4-H has been a national community education and service program in Oregon for 88 years. Through its affiliation with OSU, educational programs assist youth in developing appropriate life and technical skills for adulthood. 4-H Youth Development also provides volunteer and staff training to assist families and communities in developing sound educational programs for youth: http://oregon.4h.oregonstate.edu/.

Casale, the executive vice president of strategy and operations for Monsanto, has responsibility for all of Monsanto's manufacturing, information technology, and strategy groups. He lives with his family in St. Charles, Mo.

The National 4-H Council is governed by its board of trustees, made up of youth; representatives from 4-H, extension, and land-grant universities; corporate executives; and other private citizens.
