CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State University's department of University Housing & Dining Services will host "Taste of the Mediterranean," a celebration of Mediterranean regional culture, on Wednesday, Nov. 18, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Marketplace West Dining Center.

The celebration is one of many in the journey through culture and cuisine series and is being held in conjunction with OSU's International Education Week. The Taste of the Mediterranean will honor the cultures and foods of the countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea and will feature live music and dancing by Portland Flamenco.

Tickets cost $8 and will be available at the door, or in advance from any of the University Housing and Dining Services dining centers.

Menu items include Spanish paella with sausage, chicken and shrimp, Greek dolmas, Moroccan chicken tagine with preserved lemons and olives, French snapper Provencal, Italian vegetarian wild mushroom ravioli, apricot compote with pistachio and various French pastries from local bakery Le Patissier.

University Housing and Dining Services, honoring its commitment to sustainability, will be serving the meal on compostable plates and using compostable glasses and utensils.

The event is sponsored by University Housing and Dining in collaboration with the International Students of Oregon State University (ISOSU), International Student and Faculty Services, and INTO-OSU Center.
