CORVALLIS, Ore. - Don Robert, chief executive officer of Experian, will discuss the information services industry and the elements of a successful business model in a free public lecture at Oregon State University on Monday, Oct. 19.

The event is sponsored by OSU's College of Business as part of the Dean's Distinguished Lecture Series. It will be held in the Austin Auditorium inside the LaSells Stewart Center, 26th Street and Western Boulevard in Corvallis, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The title of Robert's speech is "The Power of Information," and attendees will receive a free T-shirt courtesy of Experian.

"Mr. Robert is both a successful executive and an alumnus of the OSU College of Business - a combination that promises to resonate with students, faculty, and the community at large," said College of Business Dean Ilene Kleinsorge. "We are very pleased to host Mr. Robert and learn about Experian's diverse business strategies."

Robert was appointed chief executive officer in February 2005, with responsibility for Experian globally. Prior to that, he served as CEO of Experian's North American business from 2001. He led the de-merger of Experian from its former parent company and simultaneous offering on the London Stock Exchange in 2006. Experian is a constituent of the FTSE 100 index.

Experian provides decision analytics, marketing, credit services, and other services to help clients in their everyday decision-making.

Robert will emphasize the commercial and social power of Experian's business model. Following the lecture, audience members will have a chance to hear more about the company through an interactive question and answer session.
