CORVALLIS. Ore. - The Oak Creek Center for Urban Horticulture will have a public field day Wednesday, Aug. 25, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Oregon State University students and faculty will share information and ideas about vegetable gardening, urban chickens, annual trials, hedge-row trials, green towers, beekeeping and green roofs.

The Oak Creek Center is on the edge of the OSU campus on the northeast corner of 35th Street and Western Boulevard. The property was formerly known as the campus apiary.

At the center, an interdisciplinary group of faculty, students and staff work to restore the natural systems of the creek-side riparian corridor while studying sustainable landscaping, green building technologies, community food systems and organic horticulture.
