CORVALLIS, Ore. - An invitational art exhibition called "Chance to Flourish: Private, Public, and Wild Gardens," sponsored by the Oregon State University College of Agricultural Sciences, will be on display March 1-30 in the OSU LaSells Stewart Center on campus.

Thirty-five artists who are represented in the College's Art About Agriculture permanent collection were invited to submit one recent work of art relevant to the garden theme of the show. The exhibition also will feature works already in the permanent collection by the 35 artists and that inspired the garden show. Their work includes assemblages, drawings, paintings, photographs, prints and sculptures.

Also on exhibit will be a small collection of seed and nursery trade catalogs loaned from the OSU Valley Library special collections. The 25 publications represent Oregon nursery and seed catalogues and others of significance to World War II victory gardens in the United States. The display also will include catalogues from the print trade's golden age of elegant illustrations.
