CORVALLIS, Ore. - Ed Jensen, a professor and associate dean for academic affairs in the College of Forestry at Oregon State University, has received the "President's Award" in urban and community forestry from Oregon Community Trees and the Oregon Department of Forestry.

The award recognized Jensen's career accomplishments in education, outreach and advocacy. Jensen has developed, conducted and evaluated natural resource education programs for the college, and is co-author of a popular handbook, "Trees to Know in Oregon."

The award was made recently at the Oregon Urban and Community Forestry Conference in Silverton. Jensen received his doctorate from OSU, has been on the faculty since 1976 and has received several awards for teaching and mentoring.
