CORVALLIS, Ore. - Award-winning poets Donna Henderson and Jessica Lamb will visit the Oregon State University campus on Tuesday, Oct. 26, to read from their work and discuss the Monmouth-based  Airlie Press, a collective poetry publishing press.

The event will begin at 4 p.m. in the Memorial Union Journey Room at OSU. A book signing will follow.

This poetry event is part of a new series called Literary Northwest, which celebrates the best and brightest in the Northwest's literary world. It is sponsored by the OSU Bookstore in cooperation with OSU's Department of English.

"The Eddy Fence" by Henderson and "Last Apples of Late Empires" by Lamb, have both been published by Airlie Press, and have garnered advance praise from poets such as Kim Stafford, Eleanor Wilner, Joan Aleshire, and Naomi Shihab Nye.

Marvin Bell, author of "The Book of Dead Man," describes Henderson's work as poetry that "evinces at every turn the one unteachable characteristic of a poet: an ear. To reread any one of her poems is to experience that poem afresh."

Stafford, author of "Oregon Pilgrimage in Green," said "Lamb writes poems that offer treasure in a few right words. But these poems give a new kind of treasure, shaping in words electric now what was live sensation then."
