CORVALLIS, Ore. - A showcase of student-designed fashion work for the public and networking event for Oregon State University alumni and colleagues will be held Thursday, April 28, in Portland.

The OSU Recycled Fashion Show & Networking Event will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Holocene, 1011 S.E. Morrison St. It is presented by the OSU Design Network, a group of OSU alumni in merchandising, apparel, interior design and related disciplines. The group's mission is to develop an active network of creative professionals in the Portland area that provides solutions for the apparel industry, and serves and enhances the education of those students looking for a future in merchandising and design.

The fashion show will be gallery-style, meaning models will be circulating throughout the event to showcase the fashions. Designs from OSU students, ranging from dresses to separates made from materials including paper, recycled neck ties, dryer sheets and old jeans, will be shown. The event is designed as a networking showcase for OSU alumni, although the public is welcome to attend as well.

There will be appetizers and a no-host bar at the event, plus the showcase of recycled fashions made by OSU students. Tickets are $15 for OSU Alumni Association members or $20 for the general public. The event is sponsored by OSU's Department of Design & Human Environment and the OSU Alumni Association.

Registration is required by April 25 at: [email protected] or online at http://www.osualum.com and click on "events."
